Holiday time at Woodlands really is “the most wonderful time of the year!” During the Christmas and New Year’s celebration season, our residents enjoy a range of festive activities. We spread cheer by offering performances by many well-known local musical artists and groups – and residents don’t have to leave campus to see them. For example, this holiday season, we brought the following special guests and events to Woodlands:

The holidays at Woodlands involve multiple musical and special guests.

This year’s performance by the Cabell-Midland High School Show Choir was one of our residents’ favorite festive activities.

And, if there wasn’t enough going on within our campus, we also offered trips (with transportation provided) to go see the Huntington Symphony Orchestra’s holiday concert, to enjoy a special meal at Cheddar’s and see Christmas lights around town, and to attend a special service at Beverly Hills United Methodist Church.

No matter which holiday you celebrate, you’ll find the atmosphere around Woodlands as friendly and welcoming as ever.

“My husband and I celebrate Hanukkah, and everyone is so kind and respectful to us,” Woodlands resident Marylin Cohen said. “Our friends and the Woodlands staff kindly wish us a happy Hanukkah and we enjoy celebrating by lighting our menorah in our home.”

Independent of any holiday, though, Marilyn simply enjoys living here.

“It’s been an excellent experience,” she said. “It’s a stress-free lifestyle, and you don’t have to worry about a thing. There are all kinds of activities here; educational speakers, musical guests, trips on the Woodlands bus to places in town and to Marshall sporting events, operas, plays.”

And in the wintertime, Marilyn noted a key benefit to the maintenance-free lifestyle at our community: “They’ll even brush the snow off your car!”

The holiday season is a great time to plan your move, and we invite you to visit us at Woodlands to see our special community firsthand.
